I just looked up the last 5 pictures Cena was in, worldwide box office for them totals around $1.4 billion dollars....so yeah, they go see Cena's films too..

Roman Reigns had a bit part in one of the Rocks movies. He could counter with that. LOL.

They appear to be:
F9 - a Fast & Furious franchise
Dolittle - voice only
Playing With Fire - no idea
Bumblebee - a Chocobot film
Blockers - apparently short for Cockblockers

But they're not John Cena films, they are films in which John Cena appears.  It's like saying Gina Carano or the kid who played Neville Longbottom are box office gold.

Except maybe Playing With Fire and when I tried to read the synopsis of that I felt my IQ slipping away.

ETA: what the fuck is going on with the formatting?

Cena was a major character in F9.
He also has Suicide Squad coming out in a few weeks. He plays Peacekeeper. Someone thought so much of his performance he got a TV deal out of it and aleady filmed 8 episodes of Peacekeeper.

The attraction of F9 I assume though is that it's part of the franchise, like how people watch Lucas do the same story over and over again. Fuck knows what Peacekeeper is, isn't he a bit hench for the UN?

How bad have they fucked up Keith Lee?  This guy was super over in NXT.  Now he's jobbing in 5 minutes on Raw after a long layoff when they have a chance to reset his momentum.

Guys who are on the current roster and should be in the main event scene like Keith Lee don't actually matter.  Guys who fill the current main event scene:  Edge, John Cena, Goldberg.  I see tonight on Raw where Drew McIntyre has a one way ticket back to the mediocre midcard.

Meanwhile, Jeff Hardy, who wrestles on Main Event and loses to literally everybody, just pinned the NXT champion on his Raw debut in front of the biggest tv crowd he's ever been in front of.

What a shit show. And Goldberg got almost no reaction beyond the piped in chants. The lack of pop was jarring. Keith Lee didn’t exactly get a rousing ovation in his return either, but even he got a bigger pop.

How bad have they fucked up Keith Lee?  This guy was super over in NXT.  Now he's jobbing in 5 minutes on Raw after a long layoff when they have a chance to reset his momentum.

They've given him Mark Henry's old gimmick. Come out as a surprise, commentators get all excited, heel in the ring panics (although Lashley got this part wrong, looking like he just smelled something bad), Henry/Lee gets squashed. The only thing missing was Teddy Long. Great commentary line: "during the break, the crowd were chanting Welcome Back". Nice of them to stop when the show came back from the break. Might have well have told us Keith Lee explained his absence during the break. His re-training worked though, Keith Lee sucks in the ring like every other WWE wrestler now.

Every WWE match is exactly the fucking same. One guy does moves while the other guy sells, until the guy on offence makes a mistake, then they swap roles. The match either ends with the guy on offence using his finisher, or the guy selling winning with a distraction roll-up, if you are lucky enough to get a finish. There is no sense that these guys are wrestling each other, the guy selling never looks like he's looking for opening, he's just waiting for the mistake.

And Goldberg? LOL. This is almost exactly the equivalent of Bob Backlund being brought out as a serious contender for the title in 1998, the year Goldberg first won the title. Backlund was booked as relic from a by-gone era when he came back in the mid-90s (he was 44 when he beat Bret for the title), but 54 year-old Goldberg is somehow a contender.

This show was awful. They will get a huge audience, with people like myself coming back to see Raw with crowds after a decent PPV. They absolutely shit the bed. More than half of the people wrestling on this show were wrestling on Raw 10 years ago. Some of them 15 or 20 or more years ago (they even showed Jeff Hardy's best moment, from 2008). The only ones I would consider fresh faces are Keith Lee (36), Karrion Kross (36) (and he looks like a generic jobber without his NXT entrance) and Rhea Ripley, and they all got buried (and by proxy, NXT was buried). Reginald won a title, I guess that's something.

The booking was remarkably bad. Not bad for wrestling, but bad even for recent WWE. You could tell that crowd wanted to be excited, but halfway through they noticeably gave up.
