it actually wasn't in this case because there was nothing we missed or saw coming...it was just a brief brain blip where she was so distraught over his breaking up with her she snapped...she wouldn't have done that prob ever but that day, she did. Before she did this I had 2 other friends kill themselves, one almost the EXACT same way arguing with his wife..but the other one planned it out, laid out his funeral suit, left letters for friends and family, left instructions on where to find his body, etc. THAT was brutal. That was one everyone for years and his family even today kick themselves wondering what they could have done that weekend to stop it from happening, or wondering about the signs they missed, etc. This one with Cassie..well, Monday I went and got her car from her boyfriend's apartment and the day before she had spent like $300 on clothes and shoes at the mall, she was leaving for the Bahamas in 2 weeks, she didn't plan this or wasn't depressed, she just had a brain blip and now we're left to deal with it all. That Daffney video...she was dead set on doing it, nobody was going to stop her...that's just brutal in a whole different way you know? :(

It's one of the side-effects of the farcical interpretation of the 2nd Amendment. Ease of access to weapons in the heat of the moment.

Everyone is sharing the Suicide Hotline number and talking in platitudes, but the reality is that only helps a certain number of people.  Daffney almost certainly has CTE and whether you have that or severe depression or a different mental illness, talking through something and coming to a rational decision is just not going to happen.  She was going to kill herself sooner or later, even if someone intervened that night.  There virtually is no way to treat CTE right now.

Someone like Cassie is completely different and tragic in a very different way.  It's unthinkable that someone would be otherwise fine and then get so distraught that they would just make an instantaneous decision to kill themselves.  The only thing that could possibly drive me to suicidal thoughts is if I lost my son, and even then I guarantee you I would stew about it for a while before I did it.  I don't decide to buy a magazine that quickly.  I mean Jesus Christ, take a day to make a pros and cons list.  You have all of eternity to be dead if that's what you decide, so what's the rush?  It's just fucking ridiculous to think that a failed relationship, which happens to everyone, could cause that kind of reaction.  I'm very sorry for your loss, I can't imagine how anyone in the family can process something like this, much less the boyfriend, who now will have that guilt hanging over him for the rest of his life.

Fuck the boyfriend..he played headgames with her forever, constantly breaking up with her then calling her back, etc. I never liked him. He's one of those guys who can NEVER admit when they're wrong. NEVER. We had a discussion over Sunday dinner once about racism in football and how it kept black players from getting a shot at QB until the 90's or so. He (now, he's 29 years old mind you) told me and Bill (Cassie's uncle) that we were insane that racism played ANY PART of there not being more black QB's in the NFL until really the mid/late 90's. Bill who's 54 and as right wing as they come flat out told him "Dude, I played HS football for one of the best football schools in NC for 4 years, we had black guys on that team that could throw a football farther and better than any white guy but the coach always told them "ok, you're going to RB or WR" and take a less qualified white guy at QB. EVERY time." He just rolled his eyes "Ahh, that never happened"...he's one of those guys. I'm not going to be one of those that hold a grudge forever but what he saw on Sunday I hope haunts him for a long time until he learns to humble himself...

The suicide act is sad enough but what it does to family and friends left behind is long lasting.  I know someone whose dad hung himself in their basement. How does that not screw you up forever? My uncle killed himself years ago. He lost his long time job, could not find a new one because he was not getting any younger,  gave up their house and moved into a apartment in a high rise. Everyone thought he was handling it well. Then one morning he got up without my aunt even knowing and took off and committed suicide. No note or anything. He was missing a week before he was found. The whole thing was horrific.

The Foley/Undertaker Hell In A Cell was one match where I thought, "Why? Just why?"  I didn't find it entertaining, just incredibly reckless and stupid.

As a Canadian, this is always one of my thoughts; guns are here too, of course, just not baked into its very culture where there's one in every house. They are just so final.

I am not a fan of Foley ever since the "Beyond The Mat" documentary where Foley's young son and daughter were at ringside watching as The Rock clobbered Foley with unprotected chair shot after unprotected chair shot to the head. Foley's wife and kids were screaming and crying in horror and it became too much for them to watch so they left the ringside area. After the match, Foley was a bloody mess and needed numerous stitches/staples to his head to close the wounds. Why would someone do that to himself and also expose his young children to it?

There is no way that Foley does not have CTE.

He did it for you, you the wrestling fan.

TMZ.com acquired a copy of the Police report related to the passing of Shannon "Daffney" Spruill late last week, which noted Spruill was found with what is believed to have been a self-inflicted gunshot wound to her chest inside her locked apartment.

According to TMZ, police went to Spruill's apartment in Norcoss, GA, meeting her mother there after Spruill streamed a disturbing video on her social media that indicated she was going to self-hard herself. Authorities knocked on the door but receiving no answer, left without trying to gain entry. When they returned several hours later, they found her car and had the building give them access to the apartment, only to find the apartment's deadbolt was locked. The local fire department broke open the door, at which point Daffney was found.

Spruill was only 46 years old.

Someone should've told the cops she was in there with some pot, they would've broken the door down themselves and much quicker.

Someone should've told the cops she was black and in there with some pot, they would've broken the door down themselves and much quicker.
Fixed for what would have got the even more immediate response.

The gun laws are pathetic. Especially in Texas. Everything is ass backwards in Texas. Abortion laws, covid rules, gun laws. Another mass shooting this time in Florida. Some guy killed 4 people including a baby. Had a firefight with cops. And he is still alive. Black men have been tortured for much less by cops. Sad world.
