What's my favorite 'season' of the year?

Football season!

And we kick off with NFL Week One and basically it has become a bit of a
site tradition over time.

I'll layout the upcoming schedule (usually on Tuesday) and pointspreads and from
there the magic happens.

It's a multi-purpose thread. Fantasy discussion. Trashtalk. Pointspread picks. In-Game
chat. Analysis and autopsy afterwards. It's all fair game.

So, lets look at the 'scores and odds' board first. I'll be using Circa Sports out of
Las Vegas this year.

Thursday Night
Dallas at Tampa Bay (7.5)

Pittsburgh at Buffalo (6.5)

NY Jets at Carolina (5)

Jacksonville (3) at Houston

Arizona at Tennessee (3)

LA Chargers (1) at Washington

Philadelphia at Atlanta (3.5)

Seattle (2.5) at Indianapolis

Minnesota (3) at Cincy

San Fran (7.5) at Detroit

Cleveland at Kansas City (6)

Miami at New England (2.5)

Denver (2.5) at NY Giants

Neutral Site Jacksonville
Green Bay (4.5) vs New Orleans

Sunday Night
Chicago at LA Rams (7.5)

Monday Night
Baltimore (4.5) at Las Vegas

The bookies/line-makers have went back to 'assigning' 2-3 points 'home field advantage' to the 'home team'

Analytics chat

Last year, home field was worth 'zero' if you went and did the math - home teams won vs away teams won, home team points vs away team points. I do believe there was some correlation in terms of 'teams with fans in the stands' doing better than those that did not. I'd have to look for that 'study' online. I'd be interested actually if someone found it.

Tom Brady just revealed that he had a bout with COVID following the Super Bowl parade.

Great timing, Tom... now defenses will think twice about tackling or sacking you.

Everybody picked the Bucs over the Cowboys, including Michael Irvin... that means the Cowboys actually have a chance.

Every time everybody pick the Cowboys, they lose, but when everybody pick against them, especially Tony Dungy, they come up with a surprising upset.

All I'm asking is Dak doesn't get himself killed in his first game back.
