All I have been hearing about today is the next unknown QB phenom thwt has been discovered by the Jets. His play has been compared to that of a 5-year veteran. This seems awful quick to start talking about him wearing the Starter Crown for the Jets. That's not all on him of course but it goes to show that for all the time and energy that NFL teams spend on scouting players for the NFL draft QB is the position that always seems to be a crap shoot. Mike White looked good today and had me watching a fair chunk of a game I had very little of a vested interest in. At the very least when Wilson comes back there should be a conversation about whether he or White starts or at the very least if Wilson continues to suck bag he should be on a short leash. The Jets aren't likely to make the playoffs at that point but very few teams in the AFC are running away from the pack, unlike the NFC where the playoff teams have almost already been decided. The list of unheralded NFL draft QB's who had HOF careers is not lengthy by any means but the list of QB's drafted in the first round who were abject failures at the NFL is too lengthy to list. The guys who seemingly came out of nowhere: Bart Starr Johnny Unitas Joe Montana Roger Staubach Tom Brady Likely a few others I could add.

One of the ones I remember in notoriety with a a first-year first-rounder getting dumped was Heath Shuler getting replaced by Gus Frerotte.

I gotta run as I post this but look up where Mike White went to school at pretty sure they throw the ball around pretty good. The Jets picked up Joe Flacco last week which tells me they have their doubts about Mike White if they were being honest

I think Flacco was an insurance policy no matter how he did. I just cannot get over there is so much excitement over such a small body of work.
