Staffers with PWI wrote that the awards are legit.  I know for many years now PWI has said this, and I think the only thing that was worked were the numbers of voters to inflate the importance.  This year, they eliminated vote totals and it's probably a complete shoot now.

AEW nearly swept the awards, only losing Inspirational Wrestler of the Year (and of course not being elibible in the Independent Wrestler category).  Britt Baker was the big winner with 3 awards.

Rookie - Jade Cargill (runners-up: Bron Breakker, Bad Bunny, Brock Anderson)
Most Improved - Britt Baker (Bobby Lashley, Trevor Murdoch, Deonna Purrazzo)
Comeback - CM Punk (Sting, Christian Cage, Becky Lynch)
Inspirational - Edge (Bianca Belair, Big E, Mickie James)
Most Popular - CM Punk (Adam Page, Big E, Bianca Belair)
Most Hated - MJF (Roman Reigns, Kenny Omega, Baron Corbin)
Feud - Chris Jericho vs. MJF (Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair, Britt Baker vs. Thunder Rosa, Roman Reigns vs. Edge)
Match - 3/17 Britt Baker vs. Thunder Rosa (9/5 Young Bucks vs. Lucha Bros., 4/10 Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair, 9/7 WALTER vs. Ilja Dragunov)
Faction - The Inner Circle (The Elite, The Bloodline, Bullet Club)
Independent Wrestler - Nick Gage (Trish Adora, Tony Deppen, Effy)
Tag Team - Young Bucks (Lucha Bros., The Usos, The New Day)
Woman - Britt Baker (Bianca Belair, Mickie James, Deonna Purrazzo)
Wrestler - Kenny Omega (Roman Reigns, Bianca Belair, Big E)

I'm sure the category has been around awhile, probably since the late 90s, but I find it funny that the best "Faction" gets an award.

No Manager? Thought Heyman would get that.

Nope, this is the first year they've had it.  They had a fan vote a few months ago to see which new category would be added, and this was chosen.

Manager was discontinued years ago given that there are basically no managers anymore.  I suppose it's made a big of a comeback, but not enough to bring this category back.

Surprised to see that Jade got the Rookie of the Year over Bron, and very surprised to see that WALTER/Ilya didn't get match of the year

Bron's push came too late in the year.  The ballots went out before then.  WALTER vs. Ilja was clearly MOTY, but how many people saw it?

I failed to mention that the Stanley Weston Lifetime Achievement Awards went to Terry Funk and Ron Simmons.

I used follow the PWI Year-End Awards religiously, I even had all the winners and runner-ups memorized for all awards from 1972-2005 when I started to lose interest in pro wrestling. Now I can only vaguely remember some of the winners.

No way Heyman could win something at this year's AEW Awards.  This is like the equivalent to AEW's Slammys.

Haven't picked up PWI in years. In fact, for a few years , I picked up the year-end awards for people here that couldn't find it as 'I had a place that carried it'

I'll go back to the 80s. Is it because AEW provides access , etc while WWE is off doing their own thing and being their own machine?

As a casual fan, to me, WWE is boring and has been for a long time. AEW and IMPACT at least look like there's an effort being made.
