Never really saw Fouts but I would say Marino as he set more records and had at least been to a Super Bowl.

That's tough. Really tough. You have to take into account that a good stretch of Fouts' career happened prior to the rules change in 1978, so his career numbers are not up to any of Marino's levels. But Fouts was doing things from 1979-1982 that were unheard of. When Marino came in, it almost was like it ushered in another era. Neil Lomax came out in '81 and was basically running a bastardized version of Air Coryell with the Cardinals, Fouts was on fire, then Marino followed by Elway, Moon, and Kelly really changed the levels of yardage and TDs. I am going to say Marino is better, simply because of the longevity and the 1984 season that truly hasn't been surpassed no matter what Manning, Brees, and Brady did in later years.

I am a big Dan Fouts fan by I will give slight edge to Marino. I think Marino was the reason Clayton and Duper were good. Fouts had HOFers Winslow, Jefferson, Chandler, and Joiner.

Different era's due to the aforementioned rules changes, also Fouts had a viable rushing attack something that Marino never really had. Marino put up better numbers simply because he was the Miami offense but I honestly think Fouts was the superior QB.

Marino by a slight margin just on gut feel. I don't have an argument for why. Both are awesome. Fouts is one of my favorites.
