![]() Saw this on the FaceBooks. Shoeless and Rose never get in. The juicers likely eventually get in. Murphy, Munson, Maris and Blue, I'd like to see get in.

How Tommy John and his 288 wins along with the pioneering surgery that got him around half of them is something between a mystery and a tragedy Last edited on Wed Jan 26th, 2022 11:11 am by BitterOldMan ____________________ Although it is not true that all conservatives are stupid people, it is true that most stupid people are conservative. - John Stuart Mill |

Vida Blue was one of the most dominant pitchers of the '70s. Think Doc Gooden but with a longer burn time. No doubt the Pittsburgh shit is what has kept him down for many years. It was what was holding out Dave Parker and allegedly is what has kept Keith Hernandez from getting any real traction with the veterans.

Orel Hershiser, who like Maris, had one great season. One great season alone , doesn't get you in the Hall.

“Most famous” will always be subjective, but even so this is silly. Cannonball Redding is an obscure Negro Leaguer from the early 1900s. There might be fewer than 100 baseball fans on the planet fans who could give you 2 facts about him, much less know his name. And Canseco, Sosa, and Maris are easily more famous than Murphy. Do they mean “most famous” or “best”?

Nice job with using the "N" word so freely and easily. Your constant cheerleading for Dixie Walker and Ben Chapman to get in the Hall of Fame shows your true colors. And by the way, I know a lot more than two facts about Otis Redding who was greater than Babe Ruth and Rube Waddell put together. It's also well known that Cannonball Adderly beat the shit out of your hero Ty Cobb. As a matter of fact, Noel Redding beat the shit out of Ty Cobb, Cap Anson, and Sandy Koufax (jewish player who beat Mudcat Grant in the 1965 World Series due to racism). Go back to enjoying your white privilege at Stormfront.

There are others, including the physical therapists who deserve credit but it basically comes down to John and his performance as the measure of success and then led to numerous players undergoing the procedure with a high percentage of those able to resume playing at the same level prior to the surgery. How Tommy John and his 288 wins along with the pioneering surgery that got him around half of them is something between a mystery and a tragedy Multiple careers were extended, and to me this adds even more value to John.
