Quarterback Rating. No matter what the talking heads say, it’s never won a Super Bowl.

Passing yardage. So many variables involving how many extra yards your WRs are able to gain after the catch, strength of offensive line, offensive play calling, even defense if you're constantly behind and have to keep airing it out or not. Seems to be little to no reflection of the actual QB.

The game category top 20 has a shitload of losers in it, meaning they lost the game so their yardage doesn’t matter. For the season, yes, some of the passing yardage leaders went on to win the Super Bowl, but every year it seemed like at least 2-3 of the top 5 were from shitty teams. Look at this line: 290 completions on 521 attempts, 3917 league leading yards, 29TD, 9INT, and ONE game winning drive. Those stats belong to the immortal Jeff George, League Leader in Yards, 1997, his Oakland Raiders went 4-12. Srossi is definitely on to something.

When team X gains 150+ yards per game on the ground they are 23-2 They're running so much bc they have the lead, not vice-versa

Pitcher win/loss records Pitcher can give up a ton of runs to the opposing team but if his team is hitting even better than the other team, he can still get the win. Same with losses. Pitcher might pitch a great game and only give up 1 run but if his team's offense gets shutout, he will still get the loss. Plus a lot has to due with the team's pitching rotation. The team's #1 starter typically gets matched up against the other team's #1 starter so some of the best pitchers often have mediocre win/loss records. If I was the manager, I would try to manage my rotation schedule so that my #1 pitcher would always pitch against my opponent's #5 starter. In a 162-game season, that should guarantee my #1 pitcher a minimum of 30 wins (assuming a 5-man rotation). Of course, the other team's #1 starters will probably also win their games against my team since they wouldn't be facing my #1 pitcher. Last edited on Sun Apr 10th, 2022 04:53 am by Big Garea Fan |

Big Garea Fan wrote: Pitcher win/loss records The most durable starters only get 32 starts these days, and in some of those they might not be allowed to go 5 innings due to pitch counts. So no one is ever getting 30 wins again. Every game comes down to bullpens so a #1 vs. a #5 doesn't even come close to guaranteeing a team win, much less a pitcher win.

Russell Westbrook single-handedly made the NBA triple double overrated. It's still an amazing feat, and take nothing away from Westbrook's athleticism, but a triple double is supposed to represent a player doing everything to help his team win, but despite all of his triple doubles Westbrook seems to always stall his team and hurt their chemistry.

MLB - Batting average. Doesnt give a full measure of the players ability to get on base, nor does it measure extra base hits, a single is weighted the same as a home run.

Passing yards. Philip Rivers got so much because the Chargers were always behind and he would get inflated passing stats since they never ran the ball. Never helped him win important games.

The number of tackles a player makes. Somebody could get a lot of tackles in a game when the defense as a whole keeps giving up first downs.

Possession in football. 78% could mean knocking it around the back four most of the match.

Number of Pro Bowls made. Once a player makes a few Pro Bowls, he might get some more based on reputation alone while some players might get snubbed who are more worthy for that given year.
