If flair want to do it I say more power to him. Seems like he having full matches with Lethel in the videos that posted. Taking slams and suplexes. If the match is a 6 man he wouldn't really have to do much. Think Flair is the Real Life Randy the Ram from the wrestler Only place is really happy is in the ring. Because his real life sucks. He loves Ric Flair He hates Richard Fliehr

He wants to relive the 80s glory days of jet flyin and kiss stealin so badly. The sad thing is that if he just went a little less hard in his later years, he could easily still be living a scaled back version of that lifestyle today without having to get in the ring. Everyone still wants to party with Ric Flair. His health and financial problems are all his own doing by having no self-control whatsoever post-50.

He really could be living the good life right now, still enjoying the nightlife and his celebrity status is already far larger now than it was in his heyday. Problem is he just doesn’t know how not to go 100mph, hes proven nobody can tell him what to do because he thinks he knows better. After all, he’s Ric Flair dammit!

pwinsider.com Former NWA World Champion Ricky Steamboat announced last night during his HighspotsAuctions.com live, virtual signing that while he had been offered the chance to get back in the ring with Ric Flair as part of Flair's "final match" on 7/31 in Nashville, TN for the Jim Crockett Promotionals revival event in Nashville, TN, he has turned down the opportunity. Steamboat noted that he was approached and gave it serious thought for about a week, but at the end of the day, at his age, he didn't want to return to the ring and not give fans what they expected out of Ricky Steamboat. He noted that when he returned to the ring to wrestle Chris Jericho, he was younger and had been involved daily with training and coaching WWE talents and got a "You still got it" chant when he performed. He commented, "I don’t want to scar that phrase." Steamboat and Flair had a legendary feud for the NWA World title in 1989, culminating with Wrestlewar '89 in Nashville, TN. The paid had equally incredible bouts for Jim Crockett Promotions in the 1980s before Steamboat left for the WWF. The two last wrestled in 1994 on a WCW Saturday Night broadcast. The Flair return bout is expected to be a multi-man tag team bout. Steamboat referred to it last night as a six man tag team match.

Conrad Thompson commented on concerns on Jeff Jarrett’s podcast: "I'm sad that Jim Crockett Jr. won't be here to see it. But David Crockett and as many of the Crocketts that we can get will be there on hand to celebrate one last run, one last match, not just for the Nature Boy, but for Jim Crockett promotions. We've licensed the music. It's going to look and feel just like it did way back when in the mid '80s. "The Nature Boy is going to walk that aisle one last time. I know there's been some pushback and people who were all of a sudden are very concerned about Ric Flair's well-being. I wonder if those are the same folks who are clamoring for Undertaker to have one more match, or what they felt about Vince McMahon wrestling at WrestleMania, or Jerry Lawler wrestling every other weekend?" he continued. "It's not uncommon in Tennessee for these Tennessee boys to strut around, and by the way, Tennessee is the birthplace of Ric Flair. How fun is it that it's come full circle with Jim Crockett promotions and him and one more match? Let me just say that I'm smarter than I look. We got some fun ideas for the show and I think some naysayers are going to come around and they're going to like this idea."

The whole thing makes me nervous but I am interested. I never got to see the Nature Boy wrestle live. This may be my chance.

Any odds Steamboat denys he's wrestling, shows up for support, or under a mask, or as Santa Claus or whatever and attacks and beats down Flair bloody after the match and does a promo about how he's sick of being Mr Nice Guy, and they set up a 30 minute time limit babyface Flair heel Steamboat match? What was once the "80s wrestling dream match" of Hogan vs Flair has been beaten to death from being done over and over and over... How did Flair and Steamboat keep all of their matches fresh? After about the third Hogan vs Flair match, I never wanted to see them wrestle each other again.

Hogan/Flair was played out after the ‘94 series, let alone the later matches (although the ‘96 Clash match where they switched roles was good). Rewatched that one recently. The problem with Hogan doing this match is that the “event” itself is then no longer Flair’s last match, but it becomes Hogan’s last match too, right? In terms of money in that, brother, I’m sure Conrad and Hogan wouldn’t be able to come to an agreement. Brian Last and Cornette were pissing all over this the other day. Last had a good line at the end of the YT clip I watched about Conrad’s domestic violence arrest.

The problem with Steamboat vs Flair is that anything they do will get compared to the ‘89 series. Hell, people crapped all over the ‘94 Spring Stampede match and that was 28 years ago.
