Married Jo wrote: Speaking of guitars, I may as well tell this story. So, as I'v mentioned before here I'm engaged and Jan has 3 granddaughters, 11, 5 and 6 months old. The 11 and 5 year olds actually really like music and have played around on my old acoustic at the house, so Jan and I decided we should get them cheap starter guitars for their birthdays this year. They are only a week between, so I ordered them the same time. I KNEW they weren't great guitars but I wasn't even going to waste $100 on a Fender starter guitar on each of them until I saw if they really wanted to learn. So I ordered these guitars. They came one Friday night and I pulled one out, tuned it up and played it for about 10 min, it actually sounded REALLY good for a $50 guitar basically. They were half-size so they were perfect for those girls...
FFWD a few weeks later, Jessa, the 5 year old, we're all having her birthday party and I go and pull out the guitar, take it in there and she opens the box and is looking all wide-eyed at it, she thought it was cool. We told her me and her Uncle Bill (who taught me my first chords, my future BIL, played in every band I've ever been in) would teach her. So there's like 20 people there, I said "ok, I'll tune it up for you!". I sit down, start to tune, get to the D string and POP! The entire bridge and all 6 strings fly off just missing my face...Jessa is looking like "ok, hand me my guitar" and I was like "Welp, sorry, we'll get you another one." lol...that said, don't buy these guitars:
I'm glad you came out of it with both eyes intact. They were probably made in the same factory as the infamous Esteban acoustics.
