I guess we all saw this coming. Khan must give Vince better head than Stephanie. It's actually a really sad period as for all their faults, WWE was a family-owned company and they lived and breathed it. It's already completely corporate, but when Vince resigns/dies soon it will be official.

Yeah it is kinda sad. So Vince is there and is very doddery, to put it mildly. Linda has nothing to do with the day to day running of it as far as I know. Shane got fired, HHH got sidelined for health reasons and possibly more, and now Stephanie is gone. Someday some other company will own it and God knows what that will look like?

It will get folded into a mega-corporation and as a brand it will continue to make people more money than it ever made Vince for years to come, with maybe no wrestling product whatsoever. They will merchandise, they will license, they will make movies and cartoons, they will open theme parks, they'll do stunt shows, but there won't be anything resembling a weekly pro wrestling show. The letters will be around for a long time though. We still might be 15 years away from that though. First Vince needs to die, then Khan and others need to assure the talent and fans that not much will change, and then they will need a little time to slowly change everything and fire everyone. It will evolve slowly until not many people are around to remember it as it was.

A thought crossed my mind that they could have crossover stuff (star wars vs superstars, or whatever). More likely that they move the wrestling show into actual cartoons and other spin off stuff like theme parks, apps, etc, like you say. Though crossover toy lines will certainly be a thing.

So who currently has more pull with Vince, Prichard or Dunn? Whomever that is, is the Grima Wormtongue of WWE

Who is head of creative now? I know it's really Vince, but Stephanie used to have that role, nominally, and was the line manager of all the writers. Is it Bruce? Don't know with Dunn. Last edited on Fri May 20th, 2022 08:52 am by Jim_Irish |

Bruce is head of Creative and from what I've heard has been running everything on that end anyway. Stephanie was technically his boss but was working on higher-level corporate stuff. Bruce has come and gone several times but Kevin Dunn is a constant and entrenched in the corporate hierarchy, so he has a lot more pull than Bruce and a much bigger bank account. Dunn has made tens of millions.

Reading the story, it looks like there's a fairly open door for her to come back. I'm more curious about the taking time off for "family reasons". The girls are, what, teengagers now? Is the oldest now in college? Maybe taking time to take care of them? Or are HHH and Steph having issues? Enquiring minds want to know!

Pretty sure nannies raised those kids just as nannies raised Shane and Stephanie. There are no "family reasons" now after all these years. Her services are no longer required. It just sounds weird to wish your daughter good luck in her future endeavors, so they found a new way to say it.

Say what you want about her or the rest of the family, they all put in massive hours and are contracted employees. They might be on talent contracts, they might not be. But they are contracted office employees and they are entitled to their pay right up until the day their contract runs out, unless they are terminated for cause. So why would they bench Steph, pay her, and not replace her? Nick Khan can't do her job, that's for sure. And she's not the type to cause corporate friction at her age because everybody there has respected her for at least a decade. In the early '00s, they did not and she was a major bitch if you recall.Reading the story, it looks like there's a fairly open door for her to come back. They can find people lower profile to do Stephanie's job, even if it tales 5 people to fill the role. The McMahons are being phased out ahead of the sale.

No one will ever convince me that Nick Khan wasn't brought in for the sole purpose of reorganizing the business and maximizing profits to facilitate a sale, with no regard whatsoever for the product. And it worked. The company is shit, has largely stopped producing new content, and has an unwatchable product, and they've never been more profitable.
