Any interest in seeing these? I found a box with all my old pics and started scanning a bunch in:

Vincente "Bull" Pometti, Dean Ho, Iron Mike McCord, Tony Garea, Grand Wizard & Don Leo Jonathan, The Wolfman.

I love these kind of pics!

For some reason Don Leo looks shorter in that pic than any I have ever seen of him.

I wish there was more than just memories out there from the Pedro era...the WWWF had some great heels come in during that period and the tag team scene was great too...imagine a season set of Championship/All Star Wrestling from 1972!

I don't know how many Manny Soto vs Bull Pometti or Tony Garea vs Chuck Richards or Sonny King vs Joe Turco TV squash matches I could get through;)

I only took the non-professional looking, poorly lighted pics. The posed shots of Jonathan, and a couple of others were pics I purchased.  Here are a few more - all of these were taken at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY which was my home area wrestling arena:

Mr. Fugi & Prof. ToruTanaka; Haystacks Calhoun; Johnny Rodz; Pedro Morales; The Valiant Bros.

Classic stuff!

This has to be around the '74-'75 time period.  Great time in wrestling for me.

Yeah looking at those pics bring back so many memories. One is the days when we were allowed to go right up to the ring and the wrestlers used to sign autographs for us as they stood on the ring apron. Those days are long gone for sure since they introduced the ringside barriers.

Glad eveyone is enjoying these. They had been buried in the attic for several years. Here's the last batch for now, I'll scan more in as I have time during the week. Most of these again are from White Plains, but one or two might be from Sunnyside Garden.

Flying Fred Curry & Chief Jay Strongbow (Sonny King is obscured); El Olympico with his mask turned around on him (I think he was going against Manuel Soto); Francisco Flores; Mr. Fugi; Gashouse Doug Gilbert; Waldo Von Erich.

did you take these pics yourself or are they from a yearbook or something similar?  it is also pretty neat to see austin idol as mike mccord.   he was alot bulkier in his early days before he trimmed down later in his career.

Those pics with King are from 1972, possibly early 1973. I think he was gone by March or April '73.

He and Strongbow were tag team champs during the summer of '72 I believe.

I am glad you put that pic of McGraw on there.  He did lose a considerable amount of weight.  After he left the WWF, I think he showed up in Florida some years later a lot thinner.  Does anybody know, was he sick or did he just decide to shed the pounds on his own?

Great stuff.

WOW!!!  Very rare snaps.  Pedro with the United States Title.  He was the only one to wear a belt in the WWWF of all the guys billed as United States Champion in the WWWF.

Two shots of Pedro with the WWWF title belt that was used as an interim belt between the one that Bruno wore and the first of the "Mulkovitch" belts.  And finally, Pedro with Bruno's belt in hand-the only time (I think) that he ever had possession of the strap that Bruno now has in his trophy case.

Thank you, El O!!  Great stuff!

Look at the last pic of Pedro and Bruno in street clothes. You can FEEL the crowd heat coming off of that one. Plus the great color pics of the old 4 strand MSG ring. One month after Pedro beat Koloff, Frazier beat Ali in that exact same ring.

Indulge me a stupid question please - in the the Morales series, second picture down, is that Gorilla Monsoon adjusting his cuffs in the background?

Yup.
My question is regarding Wong Lee's last post about the MSG ring. Was the pic with Pedro and Bruno taken at MSG? I love that picture, as was said you can see the heat in the crowd and it looks like you could cut the electricity with a knife that night. What was the story behind that picture El Olympico? Did Bruno make the save after a Pedro beat down by the heels? If that picture wasn't taken at MSG where then was it. Like I said, definitely a hot crowd that night.

Holy Shite Olympico that's awesome. And that's one of the pictures you took? Geez how old are you EO? You had to have been at least 14 when the picture was taken as that was the age limit for MSG.
You don't have to answer the age question El Olymico if you don't want to. That is a great photo though and great keepsake. History right there. Hell the WWE should pay you to use your photos for all their DVD's, books, etc, instead of PWI as you've got some dandies there. You're photo collection for that period is probably better than the WWE's.

Although I am old enough to have been there in 1971 (I am 51), That last series of pics, I did not personally take. I acquired them either through a purchase or a trade back in  the 70's. Most of the others from White Plains & Sunnyside Garden, I did take those. I started going to live shows in 1972.

Here are another bunch that I did not take - most of the pics like these I got from a guy named Barry Benghiat (not sure on the spelling), who used to sell at all the arenas back in the day.

These pics are:Bruno & Dom Denicci in Japan; Moondog Mayne; Sonny King & Jay Strongbow; Iron Mike McCord; Tony Garea vs. Buddy Wolfe; Prof, Toru Tanaka.

What was the name of the jawbreaker move that Barret had?

That is the Stan Hansen that I remember with the black and white cowboy gear.

Look at S.D. being thin and all in shape. :)

He was an Albano guy, but during his first run, he was managed by the Wizard.

This Hansen was the Sammartino neck breaking Hansen.

Yeah, it was kind of ridiculous. The Black Demon and The Rugged Russians were forced to do the same thing when wrestling in NY.

It very much so defeated the purpose of wearing a mask in the first place.  I'm surprised they even bothered putting masked guys on the cards in NYC.

Yeah, he looked pretty rough. That pic was taken in 1974, which would have put Tony at about 46 years old.

Hell, Tony looks like he had been dead for 55 - 60 years in that pic.  I don't remember him looking that old in the ring...
