It seems like WWE is slowly allowing the dreaded name of Benoit back on the airwaves, as I noticed on the HBK DVD the commentary during the Rockers-La Resistance match from 2005 mentions HHH vs Benoit as the main event later that night. 24/7 is also allowing mentions of his name as well. Pretty soon on the Monday Night Wars stuff they'll be at the point where they either have to start including him again or stop running the show. I was suprised to see the mention of his name left in on a DVD release of a main star. Personally, I think it's ok to start mentioning him again. I get they don't want any more attention drawn to that whole mess, but you can't exactly pretend he didn't exist when he was a central part of the show for so long.

I "get" what they were doing also but he was there and a part of the events. They should just show the events without "promoting/hyping" his involvement and move on that way.

Rumor has it that part of the reason the upcoming Austin DVD set was delayed (it's scheduled for Feb. 12 when it was supposed to be out this past fall) is because he wanted to have matches involving Benoit included. I'm guessing this will probably be the first time we see him on WWE programming again since Austin seems to get most of what he wants from Vince. Hell, the fans popped when HBK used the crossface last month, I'd say people will probably be not too upset about it.

So much for the recall. I just saw a couple Benoit figs at Toys R Us last night, and it was from a new case because I'd been there the nite before and they weren't there.

They don't censor OJ from NFL films, so they shouldn't censor Benoit from WWE.

I noticed that there was a 3-pack of WWE mini wrestlers originally slated to be Rey, Finlay and Benoit based on the packaging that was released on two other three-packs. The others had Lashley-Holly-Punk and Edge-Cena-Orton, but on the back they placed a WWE sticker obscuring Benoit's name (some applied properly, others sloppily so the image still showed). The actual pack on the shelf inserted Batista instead, and the packaging for the series was updated to reflect it.
