The shows they aired either Tues or Wed this week. One hour was from Spartanburg. It featured Concord's favorite Nazi Helmet Hesler vs Nebraska Cornhusker Jeff Husker who were both working SAPW in those days. It also has Valiant as well as Carolinas local Jake Steele vs Ivan Koloff. It is POSITIVELY the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium.

BigJ wrote: I think MAL/Thunderbolt went to a taping or two. My brother in law and I went to two or three tapings at a facility called The Country Club in Reseda, CA. They were marathon affairs which ran 5 to 6 hours each as I recall and covered about a months worth of tv programming. Every so often they'd shuffle the crowd around, which I didn't speculate until later was to present different faces at ringside. Admission was next to nothing and there was full bar service. We saw, just off the top of my head, Billy Jack Haynes, B. Brian Blair, Orndorff, Orton Jr., Dr. Death, Louis Spiccoli, but the most physically imposing guy of the whole bunch was called The Viking, who I didn't until much later come to realize was a young Tony Halme.

The outdoor show from last night was the worst yet by far, with Albano filling in for Bruno on commentary. He's just horrible. Dusty had the pleasure of jobbing to The Blackhearts in that one, but his 400 pound partner who was trying to keep his jeans up the whole match took the fall.

Viper II is David Isley, long, long, long time jobber (to his day, in fact). He's best known as one of The Thunderfoots. Jobbed in the WWF a little, but was mainly in Mid-Atlantic and WCW. Nightstalker was indeed Adam Bomb. I've never heard of David Perry before, the guy was horrible so no surprise there. Probably a local rookie who quit right after the UWF went under.

No idea, but there was another manager on a UWF show, Bobby Rogers, claiming to be Buddy Rogers' grandson. If that's the same Bobby Rogers I'm thinking of, then he's really Mike Rapuano, a Florida indy manager who made the news by trying to sell his kidney on eBay a few years back. This nutjob also called Paul Heyman and said he'd cut one of his fingers off live for a chance to be on an ECW PPV (an offer that I assume was rejected). He also did the Springer circuit as different characters, claiming to be a former WWF Light-Heavyweight champion on one show. This guy is doing good (and sometimes funny) reviews of all the UWF shows. Here's last night's review: http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/tv_reports/66850/411%5C%5Cs-UWF-on-ESPN-Classic-Report-01.12.08.htm
